By 60, the players in the gym have something most younger ballers don't: perspective. The 60+ bracket at the Emerald Coast Masters is full of guys who've been playing for 50 years and have no plans to stop. Many played at the high school, college, or semi-pro level. All of them have a deep, deep relationship with the game.
The 60+ game
Beautiful, frankly. The half-court offense in 60+ basketball is a thing of craft. Sets are run cleanly. Cuts are timed. The post-entry pass is a real skill again. Defense is played with positioning, hands, and angles. Most teams in this bracket would cook a younger team that didn't respect the screens.
The pace is deliberate. The score is usually closer than you'd expect. Free throw shooting is excellent — guys who've shot 100,000 of them in their lifetime don't miss many.
Format and rules
- Game format: Full-court 5-on-5
- Officials: Two certified referees per game

- Eligibility cutoff: 60 or older as of December 31 of tournament year
- Game length adjustments: Same regulation length, but rules emphasize player safety. See tournament rules for details.
Why this bracket matters
The 60+ tournament circuit isn't huge. Lots of events talk about hosting senior brackets but cancel them when only 3 teams sign up. The Emerald Coast Masters has committed to running the 60+ division reliably. If you're a captain looking for a real bracket and a real bracket-fee experience at this age, this is the spot.
Travel made simple
The Fort Walton Beach airport (VPS) is 12 minutes from FCP Sports. Pensacola International (PNS) is about 1 hour. See our airport guide for getting to the venue.
